THE OPPORTUNITY
The Opening Was Around the Corner
One Fold was preparing to open its specialty café in Ashok Nagar, Chennai.
With the opening date approaching, the founders needed to complete several essential requirements before they could begin operations, including statutory registrations, staffing and sourcing.
The timeline was tight.
The business needed its approvals and foundations in place before the doors opened, leaving very little room for delays.
THE CHALLENGE
When Standard Timelines Don't Match the Opening Date
The biggest challenge was time.
One Fold needed its FSSAI licence and other essential registrations quickly, but standard application processes could take longer than the time available before the planned opening.
Waiting for the usual timeline could have created unnecessary pressure and potentially affected the launch.
At the same time, the café needed the right people and product ecosystem in place, including skilled baristas and quality coffee beans aligned with its positioning.
THE SOLUTION
We Worked Backwards From the Opening Date
Click 8 first understood the urgency of One Fold's situation.
Instead of simply following the standard process and waiting, we looked at what could be accelerated and acted accordingly.
FAST-TRACKING COMPLIANCE
With the opening approaching, Click 8 supported One Fold with its statutory requirements and applied for the FSSAI licence through the Tatkal route, allowing the application to be processed on an accelerated basis.
This helped One Fold obtain its FSSAI licence significantly faster and get the required compliance in place before the opening.
BUILDING THE TEAM
Alongside compliance, Click 8 supported barista sourcing and hiring, helping One Fold identify suitable people who could meet the café's product and service expectations.
CONNECTING THE RIGHT SOURCING
We also supported coffee bean sourcing and vendor coordination, helping the founders identify sourcing options aligned with the quality and positioning they wanted for One Fold.
Rather than treating each requirement separately, Click 8 worked around the café's actual launch timeline — prioritising what needed to happen first and helping put the essential foundations in place before opening.
